This blog is geared for men. More specifically, this blog is geared for men who are full-time, stay-at-home dads. The kind of men who aren't afraid to go out in public with a baby in one hand and a diaper bag in the other and say: "Yeah, my wife works and I take care of the kid. Wanna fight about it?"
You might get some strange looks when you're grocery shopping in the middle of the day with your baby in tow (trust me, it happens). You also might get asked questions like, "Are you the dad?" I'll let you answer that question for yourself. Just know that you're not alone. There are other stay-at-home dads out there. We are few and far between though.
If you're a full-time mom then I guess you can read this blog too. Actually, I encourage you to read it. Raising a child is gender-neutral. Getting peed on while changing a diaper is still getting peed on while changing a diaper, whether you're a man or a woman. Right? Just keep in mind that I'm writing this blog with dads in mind.
About Me
I became a dad in August 2010, when my wife and I welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. We also decided that I'd be the one to take care of him full-time. I knew that taking care of a baby would be challenging, but I had no idea just how challenging it'd be.
In the first year of his life I've learned a lot about raising a baby and being a stay-at-home dad. I decided to take this experience and pass off some of what I learned to other dads.
I hope you find 'Brad the Dad' useful. My goal is not only to offer advice, but write about my own experience raising a child.
Thank you for reading.
